The window above has followed the congregation from their first church, on 19th. and Everett Street in Richmond. It was then moved to the second church at 609 Jefferson Davis Highway, and then was incorporated into the Belmont Road building as shown above.

Information from "The Greater Asbury," brochure about new church building.

(HIstoric information in the possession of Mr. Traser indicates that a pipe organ was presented to the first Asbury church at 19th and Everett Streets in 1916. ) It is believed to be the organ listed above.

The organ was located behind a painting of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane which formed the back wall of the choir area, within a central proscenium arch.  The console was at the front center of the choir space.  Site visit by DT.

(NOTE: It is believed that the pipe work of the 1947 Tellers organ is still located in the Jefferson Davis Highway church, although the console may have since been removed.)

Belmont Road Church has eight original stained glass windows removed from the 609 Jefferson Davis Highway church. These windows were made by George H. Payne. The building also has four matching windows with new windows by Arthur Miller of Mathews County. A number of the windows are represented here.
